One of my favorite childhood books got packed & shipped to my Mom's new home in Virginia. "The Turned Into's" is a beautifully illustrated story of how caterpillars become butterflies. The Fairies explain, these seemingly opposite insects are actually the same living being, just metamorphisized from one state to another. You are an expression of the same Creative Intelligence that makes you an ever-evolving Being. You shed your skin (every cell in your body is replaced every 7 years), shift your metabolism (your hormones fluctuate every day, every month, and every decade), and change state (body can be stiff or fluid), yet keep the continuity of the Self intact. Upgrading my original site, www.VitalEnergyCenter.com, I had to let go of redundant words, sifting through my pages, condensing thoughts, editing, reorganizing. It was arduous, rewarding, clarifying, and my sites became prettier and more user friendly! The skin, the folder, the old descriptions, had to be shed, and underneath, there were even more brilliant colors to be found. In order to absorb things I wanted from Mom's condo, I had to get rid of my own excesses. I rooted out my deep storage, ruthlessly throwing out old notes, magazines, scraps, tools, remnants, and dust holders. Whew! Then, I transported Mom's really cool items to their new home, weaving them into my decor. I became a "Turned-Into". Beautiful art pieces I had given to her, or we had bought together, were reconnected. Ones began turning into Two's... I noticed pairs turning up everywhere, the Saturn satin doll I made her came to sit next to one I had kept for myself, our blown glass objects d'art by the same Cambrian artist, the two calligraphy paintings we watched being brushed in Kyushu Japan, were now rejoined on my living room walls. And then, a kind of miraculous thing happened.... P.S. "Magic is the science of hidden relationships" - attributed to Alice Bailey. Just before new years, I picked out a lamp at my friend's going away sale. Attached to it was a beautiful painted, gilded butterfly, which looked suspiciously similar to one that I have owned for many years. What are the chances of finding a Second one, just like the First? My gilded & painted Butterfly was part of a 6-piece set, given to me by my Mother around 1997 (from the Metropolitan Museum of Art). I had scattered them throughout my house as decorations, but a few years ago, decided six butterflies were too many for one person. And so, I created a ceremony for my 4 neices and goddaughter over the holidays. "I don't have any daughters (I told them), but I have you 5 girls, and I love you so much. Each of you choose one Butterfly, and it will signify how our souls are all connected. Any time you need to call on any one of us, we will be there, just by looking at your Butterfly." We had a solemn and tearful circle, and later I noticed they had each put their Butterfly in their room, in a significant place. (Even today, they vow they still have them & think about "us".) I brought the newly discovered Second Butterfly home, thinking perhaps it was made by the same company - and found to my astonishment, that it was an exact MATCH to the First! Magic touched me that day, and I still don't know how or why the Two Gilded Butterflies found each other, but they did. What is the science behind this hidden relationship, I wonder...?
